Spring 2012
January
Jan 8 - Liam's Baby Shower, organized by Lindsey with help from Jenn, Sharon,
Bea.  Half of the group is above: Bea, Jenn, Jess, Lindsey, Susan, Katie, Ellen,
Courtney. Decorations. Bea and Sharon. Wonderful time, amazing friends.
Thank you Sharon and Bea for a relaxing weekend!  Here's to many more.
Jan 14-16 - Christina, a good friend from Boston and Cambridge days,
visited Katie for the weekend.  We lived up what would be one of the
last weekends before Liam's arrival.  Top, searching out the ice cream
stops; below, getting our fro-yo on during our pedicure.
Jan 21 - Good
friends from
AFRL Boston -
Tim & Christine,
Jess, Susan, and
us - dinner party
at our home.
Great
reconnecting!
Last weekends as
a couple
Liam is born!
February
January 25, 2012 - Liam John is born!  Katie's water
broke that morning at 3:40am. We didn't know what
was happening at first, but by 5:30am we were headed
to the hospital. Katie was started on Pitocin to start
contractions by 8am, with an epidural by 4pm (see first
picture, happy to not have the crazy pain anymore).
Liam was born at 8:44pm
(first picture with mom and
dad). He weighed in at 5lbs 11oz and just over 18
inches, healthy and active (see picture to right). Daddy
cut the cord and Liam spent the next few hours
snuggling with Mommy.
Jan 26 - Liam 2 days old. He
had his hearing test,
passing with flying colors,
his first visitors - Godparents
Ryan and Lindsey, and his
first photo shoot at the
hospital.  Mom and dad
attempted to get sleep while
learning how to take care of
their little one.
Jan 27 - Liam 3 days old. In his car seat
within the Xterra for his first car ride
home.  Arriving in his new room with
daddy. The first place Liam was content
outside of our arms: his Moses basket
(thank you Sharon!). Swaddled up in his
outfit, swaddler, and Katie's Mom's
blanket - orchestrated by Justin ("he
wants to be swaddled") with his home
made hat from the hospital.  Content.
Jan 28-Feb 7 - Meeting his first
people. Snuggling with mommy,
meeting Ida, visiting with
Christine, his sore foot from the
PKU prick, and spending quality
time with Grandma.  Grandma
spend a month helping the new
family get settled and get sleep.
Suffice to say that by the end of
the visit, Liam had her heart.
